FAQ
Questions clinics ask
Questions clinics ask before they start. If yours isn't here, contact us and we'll answer it.
Getting started
What is TMPlanner?
TMPlanner is a web console where physiotherapists build, review and progress home exercise programs, paired with a patient app that guides each session at home and records how it went. Clinical decisions stay with the treating clinician.
Who is TMPlanner for?
Physiotherapists and rehab clinicians who prescribe home exercise programs, and their patients. We're currently onboarding Australian clinics.
How do I get access?
Access is set up per clinic and there is no self-serve signup. Tell us about your clinic and we'll reply with next steps, set up your clinic and provision clinician accounts.
How long does it take to build a program?
Usually a few minutes. Pick exercises from the video library or start from one of your clinic's templates, set the doses and phases on one screen, and send it to your patient.
Can I use my clinic's own exercise videos?
Yes. Upload your own videos to your clinic's library and use them alongside the shared library. Programs can be saved as templates for the whole clinic.
For your patients
What does my patient see?
The TMPlanner app takes them through each session, exercise by exercise, with a video for each one, and records completion, pain and symptoms as they go. Their clinic sets up their account, so there is nothing for them to configure. See the patient page for what to expect.
Is the patient app in the App Store?
Not yet. During early access the iPhone app is provided to patients through their clinic.
Can a patient change their own program?
No. A patient can ask about progressing, and the request lands in your approvals list without changing anything. Every phase change is reviewed and approved by the treating clinician.
What happens when a patient logs pain or symptoms?
What they record shows up in their record and in your caseload filters, so you can sort by recent pain scores, missed sessions and open flags. These are filters over what patients recorded, not clinical alerts. Your own safety note for the program is always visible to the patient in the app.
Using the clinician console
What happens when a patient asks to progress or regress?
A request from the patient app changes nothing on its own. It appears in Approvals, where you approve, hold, decline or adjust. Progression is the only thing that advances a phase, and it is always yours to approve.
Can I reverse a phase change?
Advancing a phase is clinician only and audited against your account. It is not reversed by an undo: if a patient needs to go back a phase, prescribe the change by editing the program or lowering the doses. A pre-approved step back is a different thing, and that one you can undo: you set the bounds in advance, you are told when a patient uses them, and you can reverse it.
Does the app decide anything from a pain score?
No. The app makes no decision from a pain score. Your safety note is always present in the patient's app and is never triggered by a score. A high pain log offers the patient the escalation pathway you authored, with your pain diary a tap away.
What is in a progress report, and who can it go to?
Structured data only: adherence, progression, pain trend and goals. No free text and no audio. Every export records that consent was acknowledged and is audited. Sharing with a referrer or funder is refused unless a matching consent is on file. The PDF downloads over an authenticated link, never a public URL.
Data and privacy
Where is patient data stored?
Patient records are stored in an Australian cloud region in Sydney. Access is isolated per clinic: patients see only their own data, and clinicians see only their own clinic's patients. If your clinic turns on AI note structuring, the note text you submit is processed outside Australia. The security page has the details.
Do you sell or share patient data?
No. Data is used to deliver the service: prescribing, reviewing and progressing rehab programs. We don't sell personal information and we don't use patient data for advertising. Read the privacy policy.
Does TMPlanner use AI?
Only if your clinic turns it on, and only to turn a consult note into a draft program. The draft is a draft: you review every field and approve before anything reaches a patient. Nothing else in TMPlanner makes a decision for you.
Does TMPlanner work with my practice software?
Cliniko today, to show patients their next appointment in the app (read only, Australian Cliniko accounts). Tell us which software you use and we'll let you know what's planned.
Pricing
What does TMPlanner cost?
A$18 per clinician per week for founding clinics, billed monthly, cancel any time. No minimum, so one clinician can start. Your rate is locked for twelve months, and setup and importing your existing programs are included. The standard rate after the founding ten is A$23 a week. The pricing page explains what onboarding includes.
